Backup and Disaster Recovery for Dallas-Fort Worth Businesses
Backups That Actually Restore When You Need Them
Most backup systems fail silently. The failure shows up the day a server dies or ransomware hits, and by then it is too late. Modo Networks delivers data backup and disaster recovery that is tested, monitored, and ransomware-resistant - including disaster recovery as a service, business continuity planning, and ransomware recovery support so when something goes wrong, your business keeps going.

Data Backup and Disaster Recovery That Actually Works in Dallas-Fort Worth
Backup is one of the easiest IT promises to make and one of the hardest to keep. A server crashes, a user deletes the wrong folder, ransomware encrypts a share - and the team that was sure they had backups discovers the backups stopped running three months ago, or never covered that system, or take 14 hours to restore.
Modo Networks builds backup and disaster recovery that survives those moments. We back up the systems that matter, store copies in multiple locations including offsite cloud, make at least one copy ransomware-resistant (immutable), and test recovery regularly so when the worst happens the restore actually works. BDR sits next to our cybersecurity services for clients who want prevention and recovery handled as one program, and we add third-party backup for Microsoft 365 management clients whose data Microsoft only retains on its own schedule.
We have been doing this for Dallas-Fort Worth businesses since 2008, and we have done enough actual recoveries - hardware failures, ransomware, accidental deletions, severe weather events - to know what makes the difference between an inconvenient afternoon and a multi-week shutdown. The pattern is always the same: tested backups, multiple copies, fast recovery paths, and someone monitoring the whole thing every day. BDR is included by default in our full managed IT services engagements, or available as a standalone program for businesses that handle the rest of IT in-house.
How We Build BDR That Works

Local Plus Cloud
Local backup appliance for fast recovery, cloud replication for offsite protection. The 3-2-1 rule done right - three copies, two media types, one offsite.

Ransomware-Resistant Copies
At least one copy of your backup is immutable - ransomware cannot encrypt or delete it. When attackers lock your live systems, we restore from the protected copy.

Fast Recovery
A virtual copy of your server can be running on the local backup appliance in minutes. Your team keeps working while we restore the primary system in the background.

Daily Health Monitoring
Every backup job is monitored. Failures get caught and fixed the same day. You get a monthly report showing which jobs ran, which failed, and what we did about it.

Tested Recovery
Backups that have never been restored are unverified. We perform actual recovery tests on a schedule you set - quarterly at minimum - and document the results.

Continuity Plan
A written plan for what happens when disaster strikes. Who calls who, in what order, with what systems coming back first. Tested with your team so people know their role.
How It Works
BDR Assessment
We review your current backups, identify what is protected, what is missing, how long recovery would actually take, and where ransomware exposure lives.
Design and Deploy
We size the local backup appliance, configure cloud replication, set up immutable copies, and migrate from your existing backup system without losing protection during the cutover.
Test Recovery
First recovery test happens within the first 30 days. We restore a real system to validate the configuration, time the recovery, and document the procedure.
Monitor and Report
Daily health checks, monthly reporting, quarterly recovery tests, and annual disaster recovery plan reviews keep the BDR system trustworthy over time.

Data Backup and Disaster Recovery FAQ
How is this different from cloud backup like Carbonite or Backblaze?
Consumer cloud backup is fine for individual files. It is not designed for restoring full servers or recovering quickly. Our BDR includes server-level backup, fast recovery via a local appliance, ransomware-resistant copies, and tested recovery procedures - all of which matter when a real outage happens.
Will this protect us from ransomware?
It significantly reduces ransomware impact. The immutable backup copies cannot be encrypted by ransomware, so even if attackers compromise your environment, we can restore clean copies. Recovery still takes time, but you do not lose data and you do not pay a ransom.
How long would a full server recovery take?
It depends on the server size and the recovery target. A virtual copy can be running on the local backup appliance in minutes. Full restore of the primary server typically takes 1-4 hours for most workloads. We measure this in your environment during the first recovery test so you have actual numbers.
Do you back up Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace?
Yes. Microsoft and Google retain your data on their schedule, which is shorter than most businesses realize. We add third-party backup so emails, files, calendars, and SharePoint sites are recoverable independently of Microsoft or Google retention windows.
What if our office is destroyed by fire or flood?
The cloud replication copy lives in a separate geographic region. If your office is gone, we recover from cloud to a temporary location - your home, a co-working space, a new office, or directly to virtual servers in Azure. Your business continues operating from somewhere else.
How often are backups tested?
Quarterly at minimum, monthly for high-priority systems. We do not just verify the backup completed - we actually restore data and confirm it works. Untested backups are not real backups.
