IT Services for Dallas-Fort Worth Manufacturers
IT That Keeps the Plant Floor Running
Manufacturers cannot afford a network outage that stops a production line, a ransomware hit that takes down ERP, or a CMMC gap that costs a defense contract. Modo Networks delivers manufacturing IT services built for DFW shops - covering the plant network, endpoints, M365, Azure, cybersecurity, and backup - so production keeps moving and the IT side of compliance does not become the reason a deal stalls.

IT Built for How Manufacturers Actually Operate
Manufacturing IT is its own discipline. A production line does not care that a domain controller is rebooting or that a Microsoft 365 outage is in progress - if the network drops, ERP loses connection, or a workstation on the floor stops talking to the MES, output stops and the cost shows up in the next shift report. Most general IT providers were not built around that reality, and most manufacturers we meet are running on a patchwork of systems where nobody is fully accountable for the IT side.
Modo Networks builds manufacturing IT services for small and mid-market manufacturers across Dallas-Fort Worth, with particular concentration in Garland, Mesquite, and Grand Prairie - three of the densest manufacturing corridors in the metroplex. We handle the IT layer end to end: the plant and office network, endpoints, servers, Microsoft 365, Azure, cybersecurity, backup and disaster recovery, and helpdesk. Where the work crosses into operational technology - PLCs, SCADA, robotics controllers, machine-specific software - we partner with OT specialists rather than pretending we own that domain. The handoff is clean and documented so nothing falls between the two providers.
Manufacturing is also the most-targeted sector for ransomware, and the threat profile keeps getting sharper. Attackers know a manufacturer cannot easily stall production for a week while IT rebuilds from backup, which makes the ransom math work for them. We design the environment with that in mind: segmented networks, hardened endpoints, multi-factor authentication on everything that matters, ransomware-resistant backups, and tested recovery procedures so an incident does not turn into a multi-week shutdown.
The other pressure point is compliance. Defense suppliers face CMMC. Larger customers push security questionnaires down the supply chain. Insurance carriers ask harder questions every renewal. Modo is your IT partner through CMMC readiness and through the broader compliance work - we handle the IT infrastructure side, document what you have, close the gaps we can close, and stay in your corner when the customer or assessor asks for evidence. Modo is not a C3PAO and does not issue certifications, but we work with our customers and their auditors to tailor policies and baselines to adhere to the requirements.
How We Support Manufacturing IT

Plant-Floor Aware Support
We design and run the network with production in mind - segmentation between IT and OT, redundancy on the links that matter, and change control so a routine update does not become a line-down event.

Manufacturing-Grade Cybersecurity
Manufacturing is the top ransomware target. We layer endpoint detection and response, MFA, email security, and vulnerability management across the environment, and we keep the backup copy ransomware-resistant so a hit does not become a shutdown.

M365, Azure, and ERP Integration
We run the Microsoft 365 tenant, Azure workloads, and the IT-side of ERP and MES. Identity, access, licensing, and integration sit under one roof so users get help from one team instead of three.

CMMC and Compliance Readiness
For defense suppliers and any manufacturer facing customer or insurance security requirements, we handle the IT infrastructure side of CMMC, NIST, and CIS readiness. We are your IT partner through the journey, not a C3PAO.

Backup That Survives Ransomware
Local appliance for fast recovery, cloud replication for offsite protection, and at least one immutable copy that ransomware cannot encrypt. Recovery procedures are documented and tested so the restore actually works.

Helpdesk Plant Supervisors Will Actually Call
Real people answering real tickets, with response patterns that fit how a shift runs. We support office staff, plant supervisors, and shop-floor users without making them learn IT jargon to get help.
How It Works
Manufacturing IT Assessment
We review the network, endpoints, server environment, M365 tenant, backup posture, cybersecurity stack, and CMMC or compliance pressure. We identify what is solid, where the exposure is, and where production risk sits.
Stabilize and Secure
First wave fixes the issues that put production or data at risk - network gaps, missing MFA, endpoint security holes, broken backups, unsupported systems exposed to the internet. We close the highest-risk items before anything else.
Integrate and Optimize
We bring the environment into a single managed footprint - one helpdesk, one toolset, one accountable provider. ERP, MES, M365, and Azure get the IT-side support they need, and OT-side work flows through documented partnerships.
Operate and Improve
Ongoing monitoring, patching, security operations, backup testing, and reporting. We meet with leadership on a recurring basis to review posture, plan roadmap, and keep the IT side of the business ahead of where it needs to be.

Manufacturing IT Services FAQ
Do you support OT systems like PLCs, SCADA, and robotics controllers?
Not directly. We handle the IT side - network, endpoints, servers, M365, Azure, cybersecurity, backup, helpdesk - and we partner with OT specialists for plant-floor controls work. The handoff between IT and OT is documented, and we make sure the network and security architecture supports both sides cleanly. We will tell you upfront where our scope ends.
How do you handle CMMC for defense suppliers?
Modo is your IT partner through CMMC readiness. We handle the IT infrastructure side - access controls, system documentation, network segmentation, endpoint security, backup, and the technical control areas of the framework. Modo is not a C3PAO and does not issue certifications. When a third-party assessor or a prime contractor asks for evidence, we are the team that produces it on the IT side.
We are running ERP on an older Windows server. Can you support that?
Yes, and we see it constantly. Manufacturing ERP and MES often run on legacy Windows because the line-of-business application has not been recertified on a current OS. We can support those systems, harden them with compensating controls, segment them off the rest of the network, and plan a migration roadmap that does not put production at risk.
How do you protect us against ransomware specifically?
Layered controls. Endpoint detection and response on workstations and servers, MFA on email and remote access, email security to block the most common entry vector, vulnerability management to close known holes, and network segmentation to limit how far an attacker can move. Backup is the last line - we keep at least one ransomware-resistant copy, and we test recovery so the restore works when it matters.
We are being acquired (or acquiring another shop). Can you help with the IT side of due diligence?
Yes. We provide M&A IT due diligence as a paid engagement, separate from ongoing managed services. We look at the IT environment of the target or acquirer, surface risk, document what is in place, and produce findings the deal team and the acquiring company can act on. After the close, we can take over IT operations or hand off to whichever provider is staying.
Where in DFW do you support manufacturers?
Across the metroplex, with concentration in Garland, Mesquite, and Grand Prairie where DFW manufacturing is most dense. We also support shops in surrounding cities. Onsite coverage and remote support are both included in managed services.
